Affinity
Keywords · beginner
Affinity reduces a spell's cost based on what you control. It reads "Affinity for [something]," most commonly "affinity for artifacts."
How it works
- The spell costs {1} less to cast for each matching permanent you control.
- With affinity for artifacts and five artifacts in play, the spell costs {5} less.
Rules notes
- Affinity only reduces generic mana. It can never reduce a cost below its colored requirements.
- The reduction is calculated as you cast the spell, based on what you control at that moment.
- Affinity does not change the spell's mana value.
