To amass N is to build up a single Army creature.

How it works

• If you do not control an Army, first create a 0/0 black Army creature token (its creature type is given by the amass instruction, such as "Amass Zombies").
• Then put N +1/+1 counters on an Army you control.

Rules notes

• Amass always feeds the same Army, so repeated amass effects make one large creature rather than a wide board.
• An Army with no counters is a 0/0 and dies if it has no other source of toughness, so amass usually adds counters the same turn it makes the Army.
