How it works

• When a permanent with afterlife N dies, create N 1/1 white and black Spirit creature tokens with flying.
• Afterlife appears on creatures and on some other permanent types.

Rules notes

• The Spirit tokens are created by a death trigger, so they appear after the permanent is already in the graveyard.
• Afterlife softens the loss of a creature in combat or to removal, since you keep a flying body or two.
