To attach one permanent to another means to physically associate them, the way an Aura or Equipment connects to a creature.

How it works

• Auras attach to whatever they enchant; Equipment and Fortifications attach to creatures and lands.
• An effect that says "attach" moves the permanent so it is connected to a new object.

Rules notes

• A permanent can only be attached to something it is allowed to be attached to. An Aura with "enchant creature" cannot be attached to a land.
• If an attached permanent's host leaves play, the attachment ends. An Aura is put into the graveyard; an Equipment stays on the battlefield, unattached.
