Bloodthirst N is an enters-the-battlefield bonus. If an opponent was dealt damage this turn, a creature with bloodthirst N enters the battlefield with N +1/+1 counters on it.

How it works

• As the creature would enter the battlefield, check whether any opponent has been dealt damage already this turn.
• If so, the creature enters with N +1/+1 counters. If not, it enters with none.

Rules notes

• Bloodthirst is a replacement effect tied to entering, so the counters are there immediately. Nothing happens "after" the creature enters.
• Any damage to an opponent counts, including combat damage from earlier in the turn or noncombat damage.
