Channel

Keywords · beginner

Channel is an ability word. A card with channel has an activated ability you use from your hand by discarding it.

How it works

• A channel ability reads "[cost], Discard this card: [effect]."
• You activate it while the card is in your hand. The card goes to your graveyard and the effect happens.

Rules notes

• Channel gives a card two uses: play it normally, or discard it for its channel effect.
• Discarding the card to channel is not casting it, so cast triggers do not fire.
