Double Team

Keywords · intermediate

Double team is digital-only: it appears on MTG Arena / Alchemy cards and does not appear in paper Magic. It reads "Double team (When this creature attacks, conjure a duplicate into your hand, then both of them perpetually lose double team.)"

How it works

• When a creature with double team attacks, you conjure a duplicate of it into your hand.
• Immediately after, both the attacking original and the new duplicate perpetually lose double team.

Rules notes

• The duplicate goes to your hand, not straight onto the battlefield, so you still have to cast it to get a second copy into play.
• Because both copies lose double team as soon as the duplicate is made, a single creature can only make one duplicate this way, not one every time it attacks.
