Eminence

Keywords · intermediate

Eminence is an ability word built for the Commander format. An eminence ability works even while the card is in the command zone.

How it works

• Eminence appears on legendary creatures designed as commanders.
• The eminence ability is active whether the commander is on the battlefield or in the command zone.

Rules notes

• Eminence lets a commander influence the game before it is ever cast, which is a strong, reliable effect in Commander.
• If the commander is in your hand, graveyard, or exile, eminence does not apply; only the battlefield and command zone count.
