Epic
Keywords · advanced
Epic is a powerful, game-defining ability found on a few spells. It reads, in effect, "For the rest of the game, you can't cast spells. At the beginning of each of your upkeeps, copy this spell except for its epic ability."
How it works
- When an epic spell resolves, you can no longer cast spells for the rest of the game.
- Each of your upkeeps, you get a free copy of that spell (without the epic clause), so its effect repeats every turn.
Rules notes
- You can still play lands and activate abilities; only casting spells is locked off.
- Epic is a heavy commitment: one big effect every turn, but no more new spells.
