Evoke

Evoke lets you cast a creature cheaply for a one-time effect. It reads "Evoke [cost]."

How it works

• You may cast a creature with evoke for its evoke cost instead of its mana cost.
• The creature still enters the battlefield, so its enters-the-battlefield abilities trigger.
• A triggered ability then sacrifices the creature, because its evoke cost was paid.

Rules notes

• Evoke is best on creatures with strong enters-the-battlefield effects: you pay a low cost, get the effect, and lose the body.
• Evoke is an alternative cost; the creature's mana value is unchanged.
