Exchange
Keywords · intermediate
To exchange means to swap two things, such as control of two permanents, two players' life totals, or cards between two zones.
How it works
- An exchange swaps the two objects or values completely.
- If part of an exchange cannot happen (for example, one of the permanents has left play), the exchange usually does not happen at all.
Rules notes
- Exchanging control of permanents is a control-changing effect; it lasts as long as the effect says.
- Exchanging life totals sets each player's life to the other's former total.
