Exhaust marks an activated ability that can only be used once. It reads "Exhaust - [cost]: [effect]."

How it works

• An exhaust ability can be activated only once for as long as the permanent stays on the battlefield.
• After it has been used, that exhaust ability cannot be activated again unless the permanent leaves and returns as a new object.

Rules notes

• A permanent can have more than one exhaust ability; each is limited to one use independently.
• If the permanent leaves the battlefield and comes back, it is a new object and its exhaust abilities are available again.
