Firebending
Keywords · intermediate
Firebending N is a triggered ability. Whenever the creature attacks, it adds N red mana that sticks around through the whole combat instead of draining away as steps end.
How it works
- Whenever this creature attacks, add N {R}.
- That mana doesn't empty as steps and phases end the way mana normally does — it lasts until end of combat.
- An ability that triggers whenever a player firebends triggers whenever a firebending ability that player controls resolves.
Rules notes
- The mana appears when the attack trigger resolves, so it's available from the declare attackers step onward through the rest of combat.
- This is combat-only mana: once combat ends, any of it still unspent empties as normal.
- Firebending is one of several bending-themed keywords in this set. Airbend, waterbend, and earthbend are separate mechanics with their own distinct rules text — they aren't variations of firebending's mana trigger.
