A Food token is a colorless Food artifact token with "{2}, {T}, Sacrifice this token: You gain 3 life."

How it works

• Effects that "create a Food token" put this predefined artifact token directly onto the battlefield.
• Any player who controls a Food token can pay {2}, tap it, and sacrifice it to gain 3 life.
• Cards create Food tokens off a variety of triggers: a creature dying, a card being discarded, an enchantment entering, meeting a mana-color condition, or dealing combat damage.

Rules notes

• Creating a Food token is not casting a spell. A trigger that reads "whenever you cast an artifact spell" does not fire when a Food token enters the battlefield.
• It's still an artifact, so effects that key off an artifact entering the battlefield, or off artifacts you control, do see a Food token.
