Fortify is to lands what equip is to creatures. It appears on Fortifications. It reads "Fortify [cost]."

How it works

• A Fortification is a permanent that attaches to a land, the way Equipment attaches to a creature.
• Fortify is an activated ability: pay the cost to attach the Fortification to target land you control. It can only be activated at sorcery speed.

Rules notes

• A Fortification stays on the battlefield if its land leaves; it just becomes unattached.
• Fortifications are rare; only a few cards use this mechanic.
