Gift
Keywords · intermediate
Gift lets you give an opponent something in exchange for a bonus. It reads "Gift a [thing]," such as "Gift a card" or "Gift a Fish."
How it works
- As you cast a spell with gift, you may choose an opponent and promise them the gift.
- If you promised the gift, the spell gains an extra effect for you. When the spell resolves or the creature enters, the chosen opponent receives the gift (a card, a token, a tapped permanent, and so on).
Rules notes
- The gift is a real benefit for the opponent, so gift cards are balanced around you getting a strong payoff in return.
- Whether a gift was promised is locked in as the spell is cast.
