Grandeur

Keywords · intermediate

Grandeur is an ability word. A card with grandeur has an activated ability that costs you a second copy of the card.

How it works

• A grandeur ability reads "Discard another card named [this card's name]: [effect]."
• You activate it by discarding a second copy of the same card from your hand.

Rules notes

• Grandeur was designed for cards you would naturally want multiples of, but the singleton rule in Commander means you cannot have two copies of a nonbasic card, so grandeur abilities are hard to use there.
