Haste
Keywords · beginner
A creature with haste can attack and use {T} abilities the turn it comes under your control. It ignores the standard "summoning sickness" delay.
How it works
- Without haste, a creature can't attack or use tap abilities until you've controlled it continuously since the start of your most recent turn.
- Haste removes that restriction.
- Haste does not let a creature do anything else it couldn't normally do -- it just removes the summoning sickness rule.
Common interactions
- Bouncing and re-casting: Returning a creature to your hand resets summoning sickness; haste protects against that.
- Stealing creatures: Stealing an opponent's creature gives it summoning sickness for you. Haste effects let you attack with it that turn.
- Token doublers and ETB triggers: Haste enables turn-of-summon attacks for tokens and freshly-cast creatures.
