Heroic

Keywords · beginner

Heroic is an ability word. A creature with heroic triggers when you cast a spell that targets it.

How it works

• Heroic abilities read "Whenever you cast a spell that targets this creature, [effect]."
• Casting one of your own spells at the heroic creature sets off the trigger.

Rules notes

• Only spells you cast count, and the spell must target the heroic creature.
• An opponent targeting the creature does not trigger heroic.
• Activated and triggered abilities are not spells, so they do not trigger heroic.
