Imprint is an ability word. A card with imprint exiles another card and then refers to it.

How it works

• An imprint card has an ability that exiles a card (from your hand, the battlefield, or elsewhere).
• The imprint card's other abilities then reference the exiled card, often copying it or scaling with its characteristics.

Rules notes

• The imprinted card stays in exile; it is associated with the imprint card, not played.
• If the imprint card leaves the battlefield, its connection to the exiled card is lost.
