To meld is to combine two specific cards into a single, larger double-faced permanent.

How it works

• Meld cards come in matched pairs. An effect (often on one of the pair) tells you to meld them if you own and control both.
• The two cards are turned over and placed together to form one permanent, using the melded back face printed across both cards.

Rules notes

• A melded permanent is a single object. If it leaves the battlefield, it splits back into the two separate cards.
• Both cards must be owned and controlled by the same player to meld.
