Menace
Keywords · beginner
A creature with menace can't be blocked except by two or more creatures.
How it works
- A solo blocker can't stop a menace creature. The defender needs at least two creatures to block one menace attacker.
- Menace stacks well in token decks where the opponent has only a couple of blockers but you have many menace creatures.
- Two menace attackers can each demand two blockers -- spreading menace across multiple creatures multiplies the blocker tax.
Common interactions
- Menace + flying: must be blocked by two creatures with reach or flying. Almost unblockable in casual environments.
- Menace + opposing token swarm: less effective when the opponent has many small blockers.
- Goading + menace: a forced-to-attack creature with menace is a real problem for the targeted player.
