Mill
Keywords · beginner
Mill N -- put the top N cards of a library into its owner's graveyard.
How it works
- "Mill" is a verb. The cards go to the graveyard, not exile.
- Can be self-mill (put your own cards into your graveyard, useful for graveyard decks) or opponent-mill (a slow win condition that runs the opponent's library out).
- A player who tries to draw from an empty library loses on the next state-based-action check.
Common interactions
- Self-mill for delve / escape / flashback / dredge / graveyard-matters strategies.
- Mill as a wincon in Bruvac the Grandiloquent / Tasha's Hideous Laughter type decks. Multiplayer mill is rough at 99 cards per opponent.
- Mill + recursion: put a key piece in the yard, then return it. Eternal Witness, Sun Titan, Reanimate loops.
