Modular

Keywords · intermediate

Modular N appears on artifact creatures, usually Constructs. It governs +1/+1 counters and what happens when the creature dies.

How it works

• A creature with modular N enters the battlefield with N +1/+1 counters on it.
• When it dies, you may put its +1/+1 counters on target artifact creature.

Rules notes

• The counters are moved by a death trigger, so the receiving artifact creature must be on the battlefield when the trigger resolves.
• Modular lets a board of artifact creatures pass their strength along as they die one by one.
