To make a creature undergo monstrosity N is a one-time upgrade.

How it works

• When a creature becomes monstrous, if it is not already monstrous, put N +1/+1 counters on it and it becomes monstrous.
• A creature can only become monstrous once.

Rules notes

• Many creatures have an activated ability that pays mana to "monstrosity N."
• Some cards have extra triggered abilities that fire "when this creature becomes monstrous."
• Once a creature is monstrous, monstrosity does nothing further, even if the counters are removed.
