Morph
Keywords · intermediate
Morph lets a creature be cast face down as a mystery 2/2. It reads "Morph [cost]."
How it works
- Instead of casting the card normally, you may cast it face down for {3}. It becomes a 2/2 colorless creature with no name, types, or abilities.
- Any time you have priority, you may turn it face up by paying its morph cost. This is a special action and does not use the stack.
Rules notes
- A face-down creature is a real 2/2 creature; it can attack and block.
- Turning a creature face up is not casting it. Cast triggers do not fire, but the creature's own enters-the-battlefield abilities also do not retrigger, since it never re-enters.
- See also megamorph, a variant that adds a +1/+1 counter when the creature is turned face up.
