Mutate
Keywords · advanced
Mutate lets a creature merge with one you already control. It reads "Mutate [cost]."
How it works
- You may cast a creature spell with mutate for its mutate cost. It then targets a non-Human creature you own.
- As it resolves, merge the two cards into one creature, with the mutating card placed on top of or under the other.
- The merged creature uses the top card's name, types, power, and toughness, and has all abilities from every card in the pile.
Rules notes
- The merged permanent is a single creature. If it dies, all cards in the pile go to their owners' graveyards.
- "Whenever this creature mutates" abilities trigger each time a creature mutates onto the pile.
- A mutated creature keeps its summoning-sickness status from the underlying permanent.
