Phasing
Keywords · advanced
Phasing makes a permanent flicker in and out of the game on a timer. It reads "Phasing."
How it works
- A permanent with phasing phases out at the beginning of its controller's untap step, then phases back in at the start of their next untap step.
- While phased out, the permanent is treated as though it does not exist. It cannot be targeted, attacked, or affected.
Rules notes
- A phased-out permanent does not change zones, so it is not "leaving" or "entering" the battlefield. Enters and leaves triggers do not fire when it phases.
- Auras, Equipment, and counters phase out and in along with the permanent they are attached to.
- A creature that phased out and back in is not summoning sick if its controller has controlled it continuously.
