Retrace

Keywords · intermediate

Retrace lets you cast a spell from your graveyard by discarding lands.

How it works

• A card with retrace can be cast from your graveyard.
• To do so, you discard a land card from your hand in addition to paying the spell's other costs.
• After it resolves, the spell goes back to your graveyard, so it can be retraced again.

Rules notes

• Casting via retrace is a normal cast, so cast triggers fire and the spell can be countered.
• Retrace turns excess land cards in hand into repeated spell value.
