Role

A Role token is a colorless Aura enchantment token with "enchant creature" that comes in several named varieties, each modifying the creature it's attached to.
How it works
- Every Role token attaches to a creature like any other Aura. Effects that "create a [Name] Role token attached to" a creature put it directly onto the battlefield already attached; it isn't cast.
- The named varieties: Cursed (sets the enchanted creature's base power and toughness to 1/1), Monster (+1/+1 and trample), Royal (+1/+1 and ward {1}), Sorcerer (+1/+1 and "whenever this creature attacks, scry 1"), Virtuous (+1/+1 for each enchantment you control), Wicked (+1/+1, and each opponent loses 1 life when this token is put into a graveyard from the battlefield), and Young Hero (an attack trigger that adds a +1/+1 counter while its toughness is 3 or less).
- Cards grant these through enters-the-battlefield triggers, a creature dying, an Adventure spell, or as part of returning a creature from the graveyard.
Rules notes
- Creating a Role token is not casting a spell. A trigger that reads "whenever you cast an enchantment spell" does not fire when a Role token enters attached to a creature.
- One Role per player, per creature. If a permanent has more than one Role controlled by the same player attached to it, every one of those Roles except the most recent is put into its owner's graveyard. This is a state-based action, so it happens automatically, without using the stack.
- That limit is per controller. Two different players can each have a Role attached to the same creature, and neither falls off.
- A Wicked Role hitting the graveyard this way still triggers its own "when this token is put into a graveyard from the battlefield" ability, so overwriting a Wicked Role drains each opponent for 1.
- Because it's an Aura, a Role token needs a legal creature to enchant and only affects the creature it's attached to.
