Surveil

Keywords · beginner

Surveil N -- look at the top N cards of your library, then put any number of them in your graveyard and the rest on top in any order.

How it works

• Like scry, but the unwanted cards go to the graveyard instead of the bottom of the library.
• Doubles as graveyard fuel for delve, escape, flashback, dredge, and "graveyard matters" decks.
• Surveil is a Dimir signature mechanic but appears in mono-blue and mono-black too.

Common interactions

• Surveil + flashback / escape / aftermath: dump useful spells to the yard for later replay.
• Surveil + delve: feed the graveyard to cast delve threats more cheaply.
• Surveil triggers: cards like Connive effects scale off surveiling.
