Transmute

Keywords · intermediate

Transmute lets a card in your hand fetch a different card of the same cost. It reads "Transmute [cost]."

How it works

• Transmute is an activated ability used from your hand: pay the transmute cost and discard the card.
• Search your library for a card with the same mana value as the transmuted card, reveal it, and put it into your hand. Then shuffle.
• Transmute can only be activated at sorcery speed.

Rules notes

• You discard the transmute card to find a different card of equal mana value, so it works as a flexible tutor.
• The fetched card goes to your hand, not the battlefield; you still have to cast it.
