Tribute N gives an opponent a choice as a creature enters. It reads "Tribute N."

How it works

• As a creature with tribute N enters the battlefield, an opponent of your choice decides whether to pay tribute.
• If they pay tribute, the creature enters with N +1/+1 counters on it.
• If they do not, the creature's "tribute not paid" ability happens instead.

Rules notes

• Tribute creatures are designed so both outcomes are good for you: a bigger creature, or a strong triggered effect.
• The opponent who chooses is selected by the creature's controller.
