Valiant

Keywords · beginner

Valiant is an ability word. A creature with valiant triggers the first time it becomes targeted by your own spell or ability each turn.

How it works

• Valiant abilities read "Whenever this creature becomes the target of a spell or ability you control for the first time each turn, [effect]."
• Only the first such targeting each turn triggers valiant.

Rules notes

• Only spells and abilities you control count. An opponent targeting the creature does not trigger valiant.
• Later targetings in the same turn do nothing for valiant; the trigger resets next turn.
