Vigilance
Keywords · beginner
A creature with vigilance doesn't tap when attacking.
How it works
- Normally, attacking creatures tap as the cost of being declared as attackers. Vigilance skips that step.
- A vigilant creature can attack and still block on the next opponent's turn.
- It can also still use tap abilities (e.g. "{T}: add {G}") even while attacking, since it's not tapped.
Common interactions
- Pairs naturally with auras and equipment that grant tap abilities.
- Combines well with creatures that have powerful "while attacking" triggers, since the creature can still serve defense duty.
