Archidekt Import Syntax

Archidekt (<https://archidekt.com>) is the deckbuilder we use for the user's own Commander decks. The import format is mostly self-explanatory but has a few syntax quirks worth knowing.

Basic format

One card per line:

1 Lightning Bolt
1 Counterspell
1 Sol Ring

Quantity is optional in some import modes (defaults to 1).

Specifying a printing

1x Lightning Bolt (M11) 149

• (M11) -- set code in parens.
• 149 -- collector number after the set code.
• Both are optional. Without them, Archidekt picks an arbitrary printing (often the cheapest).

Categories (Archidekt's deckbuilder taxonomy)

1 Lightning Bolt [Removal]

• Square brackets after the line label the card with a category.
• Common categories: Commander, Lands, Ramp, Removal, Card Draw, Win Conditions, Utility.

Commander tag

The most important syntax for Commander deck imports:

1x Atraxa, Praetors' Voice (cmm) 425 [Commander{top}]

• [Commander{top}] -- marks the card as the commander and pins it to the top of the deck list.
• Without {top}, the commander still works but isn't visually pinned.
• For partner pairs: ``` 1x Tymna the Weaver (CMR) 75 [Commander{top}] 1x Thrasios, Triton Hero (CMR) 73 [Commander{top}] ```

Foiling and finishes

1x Sol Ring (cmm) 425 *F*

• *F* -- foil printing.
• *E* -- etched.

Optional and rarely needed for proxy work.

Comments

// This is a comment
1 Lightning Bolt

• Lines starting with // are ignored on import.

Tips

• When importing from a search-engine output, paste with categories enabled so Archidekt auto-files cards. You can re-categorize after.
• The Commander{top} tag is the only tricky bit. Always include it for the commander or your deck won't be flagged as a Commander deck.
• Archidekt will warn you if any card violates color identity -- a useful sanity check for new decks.
