Deck Power Profile
More to explore · intermediate
The Deck Power Profile is a deterministic read of a deck's engine, measured directly from the oracle text of its cards. It encodes eight deck-building "secrets" as numbers, so a deck evaluation can talk about where a deck is thin and what to fix instead of hand-waving.
Every number is conservative and a heuristic. It measures patterns in oracle text; it does not assert that any two cards combo. The lists it produces (weak cards, soft-combo leads) are leads to verify, never facts. Use the profile to decide where to look; use oracle text to decide what is true.
The metrics
| Metric | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| Value-to-Turn | How far the engine outpaces a vanilla mana curve. |
| Symmetry | Whether the engine scales with a 4-player table or only helps you. |
| Resilience | How hard the engine is to remove (and the fragile %). |
| Doublers | Value multipliers that scale everything else. |
| Free engines | Off-turn / no-mana value sources. |
| Multi-engine | Single cards doing two or more jobs. |
| Explosiveness | Ramp that buys turns. |
How to read it
A high number is not automatically "better" for every deck. The profile describes the deck's shape. A go-wide aggro deck will have low symmetry by nature; a control deck will lean on resilience and free engines. Read each metric against the deck's plan, and treat the flagged cards as the first places to look when tuning, not as a verdict.
